Home / CHAMPAGNE BONNAIRE

The Bonnaire Champagne House began operations in 1932 in the village of Cramant, one of the finest Grand Cru growing areas in the Champagne region.

For Fernand Bouquemont, the founder of the champagne house, the choice was simple: either sell his land or start producing his own champagne. Fernand chose champagne production, and his hard work quickly paid off. The first batch of his champagne earned him the Concours Agricole gold medal.

After World War II, his son-in-law André Bonnaire, a passionate viticulture enthusiast, joined him. Under the leadership of André’s son, Jean-Louis, Maison Bonnaire became one of the most renowned houses in the Côte des Blancs region. Jean-Louis shaped the Bonnaire style that we know, recognize, and love today.

Currently, the house is managed by the fourth generation, brothers Jean-Etienne and Jean-Emmanuel. The brothers oversee approximately 22 hectares of Grand Cru-classified vineyards.

The sons have remained faithful to their father’s production philosophy, crafting fresh and elegant Blanc de Blancs champagnes.

Bonnaire champagne is also a favorite of the renowned Champagne expert Richard Juhlin. He has said: “My private cellar is full of Bonnaire. The estate produces one of the most creamiest wines the world has ever seen.”
